Windows to Bhutan (4 Days)

Day 1: Calcutta/Paro.

Arrive at Paro , reception by Yodsel representative; transfer to hotel Tiger's Nest resort set in the pine trees overlooking the lush valleys; afternoon sightseeing/visit of Ta dzong, now a natural history museum- one of finest in Asia; visit the Rinpungdzong; visit the little town of Paro with its various handicraft shops lining the street; then drive towards northern part of the Paro valley to view the impressive Drugyaldzong ruins perched on a hill that once guarded the invading forces from Tibet; dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day2:Paro/ Thimphu.

Drive to capital city of Thimphu (50 km in about 1 & half hr drive) ; morning visits to the hospital for traditional medicine, memorial Chorten and the national library. after lunch visit the handicrafts center & the school of Thanka painting; after lunch visit the handmade paper factory; drive to the Sangaygang view point, and also visit the Takin zoo that houses the rare Takin (a unique animal that is a cross of a goat and yak); time permitting you can also visit the nunnery at Zilukha, the Changangkha lhakhang; return to hotel

Day3 :Thimphu-Paro.

Morning visit the Sunday vegetable market to view the organic produce of the local farmers; drive to Has valley- one of the most preserved valleys untouched by rapid development; witness a archery tournament at the Changlimithang grounds; visit the town square or clock tour area- where we have in display the arts of the youth of Bhutan; after lunch return to Paro; enrooted drive to Do hula pass-- the picturesque pass (10,000 ft); stop to view the famous chorten built in memory of the 4th king of Bhutan; continue to Paro; overnight and dinner at hotel.

Day4:Paro/Calcutta:

Transfer to Paro airport for onward flight.
